New New Trek

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

Nathanael and Ashley dive into new trek! Nathanael falls down an IMDB rabbit hole and Ashley can't remember anyone's name!

Right well, I need to re write, but inthe meantime, if you could give it to anyone that you know in TV or adefinitely, I will make it so to seem start trick. The next generation Ihaven't now by your wife. Won't let you have it. Am I not married yourgirlfriend, then I'm gotta go for that. I live alone, you're not married, I'mgot a girlfriend and you know what State Good Night Ron Story: Larry O welcome to dearly debated of the showwhat you're entitled to your opinion, even if it's wrong joining me today in the Levinson FamilyHome School Studio, that is the one. The only Ashley I think Tilly is reallycool Thomas trying to think of like a cool tiltingto say- and I couldn't think of one. So I just passed out which I suppose isappropriate and I am Nathaniel Engage Levinson Nice. So today we're just going to be doing alittle chit chatting about because yeas you, as you may know, one of ourother couples Greg Not really start that guy. I had no watched, it Jason, our lonesome moderator we idly couldnot be here tonight. He is working through a star Trek. I think he's up tode Space, not yeah. I think they got a little bit into deep space now and theykind of took a break right when it was getting good yeah. I ettinger prise belike thiel. Well, I mean I'm honest. The first two seasons of DC now werekind of a log for me. There there, okay yeah, they definitely like a little bitepisodic and the the real stuff kicks in later yeah like once the dominion. Some stuff starts him en they get the defiant, but I mean the character.Building is still really solid in the first time, yeah yeah yeah and likehaving watched it since then. I appreciate it more in retrospect and, let's be honest, next JEM didn't kick in until recordGod, his beard any any first season, first seasons of just about every startrek series, e or probably the strongest for Yeahs, but say what you Idon't really have any or or kind of went down the up, yeah yeah. Everythingelse is kind of a pretty steady climb, yeah yeah yeah so but yeah so there's some. What wasit first contact day at first contacted was April, the fifth, which was at timeof recording this past Monday yeah, so it was able the fifth, and so theydropped a bunch of new teasers, so card season to discovery season for lowerdex season, to which you know. That's fine, that's not really what we want totalk about, because that I mean how much can we talk about it? Isn'tanimated animated? I really enjoy it. I want to Cosquin, I absolutely a O. I have no issues withit. The main the finer issue, I think I hadwith flora deck is okay. I enjoy it, but it's really not in the spirit ofStar Trek. We and I think, one of the things I did find a joy about itbecause enjoyable about it was because it was so different M. I like thedifference, and you know, and for those who may be unaware. I have literallywatched all of Star Trek because I have a problem. It's called completion is towatch all of it, except for the last couple seasons of enterprise and theoriginal series. Only three yeah, I don't know what I we stopwatching as a family S W. When I stop, I e yeah, but so so I to me, there's not a super wrong way todo. Star, Try, yeah and and- and I think Lord is going to serve its purpose- tobring in different people the same way like other people are getting in tostar trek because they watch discovery. The same way I got into starter becauseI watch that two thousand and nine movie yeah and then you know I have aproblem. Let's go with all of it. I know I totally agree with it, but, butyou know, start in reference has never really been star trucks thing which Iyes, it's an animated spit off, show like it's non cannon, probably its questionable Canon Yeah. I meanthey're, definitely...

...playing with a lot of different thingsand, like all the little reis they saw Halloween's, Canon and they're like wewant that all the little references are really fun. The the joke about he was a captain Kirk Sunday with trip Carcospakles about maybe P my pants yeah. So I there's definitely a lot of like reallygood de cut humor in right. So so you know part of it is a love letter and anit's like half love letter to trek and half taking taking the biss out of thisstuff is really stupid. I wasn't it, but, but but again right- and this isone of the complate people had about discovery- was like it didn't feel likeStar Trek, because you know, regardless of the setting you face, it was on aspace station and you have you know woyage and enterprise, the differententerprises- and you know all you know different, mostly different setting ofdifferent visions, but the feel of star tricky is kind of that that optimisticoutlook all ways. Looking for new discoveries, you know the joy of discovery, butironically, discovery took a little bit to find right right. It took its timeto get there, and I think also one of the things that may discovery reallydifferent is that it is the first star Trek series that was not bound to the twenty six episode run o. So you don'thave the filler episodes which, which are fun but not always, like onehundred percent relevant sure, sometimes they're cool for like charterdevelopment stuff, which is really neat but discovery. It's you know it's onehit after another, so you've got a different style of storytelling and Ithink that might have been a little different for people to yeah. It's.It's definitely faster pace. Yeah, Oh for so person that's base in, and Istill disagree completely disagree with them. Dropping F bombs. I'm like comeon guys yeah. Then I mean you know it's. It is what it is. I understand whythey're there I'll take her lieve it. It doesn't particularly bother me. Sothe reason that that bothers me at is because I got into star Trek because myparents want start trek with me so by making it a more quote, unquote moremature show like you're getting certain fantoms that you might not otherwiseget but you're losing this. This familiar aspect where it's like, Ican't sit down and watch. I can sit down my atch any star. Trek of my kidsaccept discovery and May, but you know car is like the one on, but like thosetwo I would hear I like. I couldn't you know if I had like an eight year oldchild or a six year old tilden. Now I wouldn't have said I. I won't sit downand watch to tek space in with them right, but I wouldn't sit down andwatch discovery or or the card with them right, and youknow that's a creative decision to make it honestly. I think they could havecut that content out and it would not have changed anything. That's right! That's the reason why it bothers me. I you know it doesn't necessarily Bothomy enjoyment, but I think that is a in the long run. That is a bad decisionand I think that that yeah, I think, that's fair and that that also isplaying into. That was how you experienced our track right, whereas Idid not experience or Trina adults so so I can. I can. I can see that sure, but I think I think that aspect of it like shows you can watch with your kids.Star Trek has always been on that list right and I think a lot of peopleexperience is you know a lot of people can with the movies that was big, butthen, before those movies, most people were like. Well, my Parents Watch StarTrek, so I watch star Trek. I think there was a lot of generational starTrek fans that grew up with it and and that's one of the things is that hasbeen going since the S and s e Li years old, and so people like well. You knowI grew up on the original series. I grew up on next GIN. I grew up on toour SISTIN and generally, the one you grew up with tends to be your favorite,so I think they've lost that aspect. Bymaking certain decisions to be a you know, more edgy which, if you're everlike, we need to be more edge. That's to long decision, stoppin that neverthe right decision like drop it out, so I was making funof a titans because it in the titans trailer is like as Pat Man I askit, the pod was doing a skin aboutit. He was like I wait and he ro just going to say. IfBatman, that's a Nanyo, let's call it team time. You can't call to tieshtitans was not a terrible show. I O O S. I was not terrible, it was he. You know, that's like the embodiment of asteamdrama. To be honest, I felt like if C W was like, we could have blood and gutsand and swear words so and actually make it better. I apparently I got tooold to enjoy my who that right, but no, but it was actually good. It had some.It had some interesting stuff happening: okay, but but yeah like the idea tomake things edgy. WHO, like is that I to much to attract? Does that reallyhave longevity, because the people who...

...are there like it's edgy and thereforeit's good there they're moving on to the next big thing, is to to somethingbecomes at you're like yeah anyways anyway talk about Star Trek who so yeah first contact they they droppednew trailer for discovery, new trailer, Ord, a card new trailer for lower decksand they teased. What is it star trick? Priority, not productin prodigy, yetnew anime series, some animated series, which I assume he's gonna, be a littlemore serious, it's so as at r prodegies going to bemore like kid directed that's going to be on Nicoean, but the big deal about Star TrekProdigy is they've, got kate, moge bet to be keptain, Jane Right and, as Iunderstand it, she's kind of leading the this group, my asters, it's it's Star Trek Magic School bus.Oh my Gosh! I didn't think about it that way, but yeah. This is exactly what I wanted. I yesnice. I Want I want yes come on kids, I jump on the magic spaceship like. Let'sgo, yes, I'm so in for that now there wasnot didn't draw a trailer for that. I saluted to well. They they release himteaser images. So so you actually get to see like all of the the new recruitsand you get to see. Captain J Wi right was pretty cool and she's. Looking likeearly voyager, Jane Way, she's got her hair up in the OOF. The Pope Bun the Puffy Burn, thethe Danish well, apparently, Kate Mulder's hair was like a big deallike and it cost real trauma on the because they're like the the people arelike. Maybe she should do her heard this, and it came over literally said:She's got to pilot this efensive get this get these people back to Earthlike she doesn't have toetie to care about what her hair looks like what'swrong with you p s like t and then by like what season threeseason for she got it Hyeah. I never took issue with her hair in, like theguys, it's Italy. It was a point of contention, as so weird I mean it'sstupid and in she knew it, but it was a fan. Boyd I mean slowing long fung.Hair might look more look more gooder lot. It's a recording, like might lookbetter for some shots, but like take practice, I'm always to okay yea. Ihave to teach in chemistry labs and I'm always like. Ladies and guys, if youhave long hair, this is not discriminatory. Like give you a longhair, you need to tie it up because, if you're eating over bigger acid and yourhair pousin, you don't want that to happen. No a hair could get in the way,so it's perfectly sensible to have it always tied up when you're working likehey when you're when you're, when you have that you know ships party thingwhatever, when they're, whether having the voyager, rave or whatever yeah you canlet your hair, that's wet, there's a reason that let your hair down is ametaphor for relaxing, because you have to put your hair up if you're going toactually accomplish things. I think it's perfectly rawle be like we're onthe job hair's up yep but anyway. So so that's going to be really cool and- andyou know again something you it because it's more like kid oriented somethingyou could watch as a family which is really cool and you've got the classic. You got the tie in with classic trek with Kate Molgro right right, which isawesome. Yeah, that's what that's be cool. It would be interesting to seewhat to do with that. I, I should be fun, be interesting if they get to like thedeep or of the Star Trek Universe as told to children. I totally okay with that listen. Ipurposely get audio books because Kate Mok narrates them. I will apply like listen to her. Tell me all the StarTrek Water Wow. Oh speaking, of well Loki, okay, we're not gonna get on that!I royou haven't now it's it looks likeit's gonna be awful yeah. I mean it's looky and old. Wilson! Isn't it to so?I'm like this is going to be fun. Yeah, it's a Wilson wow I like are on. Igonna have him say that, because my a pretty met O, I think if they make italmost and say, wow it's Goin to blow up the air. So why don't we start with the car thecar? So we did. We talk about first in Cardon Real. We really talked about no,we so when we did our star podcast way back in episode, five or three year or but yeah. So T earl, grey hot episode, you're very hot pearls out to love rotor at love. Look Guy on Clarayouwill definitely not find your answer...

...there. Yes T or a Er hot was episodefive yeah, so it was released in almost a year ago. Yeah months come USago, game, yewen C Yeah we've been weened for a while we have we have yeah. So I remember in that episode we madereference to some of the things that we had questions about in Pecan, particularly the what are the logistics of how wealth isand like resources are distributed in a society that doesn't use money, because there is a clear disparitybetween what the card has and what Rafy has, because you know he's set up in hisPicard Family Mansion, which I mean you still have. You knowissues of like the effects of generational wealth, butthen you have rapi who's out in the desert in RV. So what's what's the dealthere like? Because, theoretically, if we're in a society that you know, everybody has the things they need or has access to them, why? Why is therestill this disparity right right? So so that's that's kind of a question thatwe have that may or may not be addressed in season to it may just be a you know, a plot holethey choose to ignore right right. It may not be relevant to the score thetrain tell, and you know it is funny, because in next generation, when I don't remember which episode itis, but there's an episode where they're talking to no, it's the showepisode. It's the episode. When he's talking to you and they're like nowe've gotten rid of poverty. We've gotten rid of money, like everyone haseverything they need right. You know with firm conviction as Picard wouldn'tlie about that. No, so it's interesting that they kind of slightly reck on thatand in just saying that there there are still wishing to go honestly, I thinkit's more realistic to say, even if we solve were old hunger, they are stillgoing to be, has in having at right a not because that's just you know it'simpossible to get purely he, I guess purely marching anddistribution of wealth right, because it's a first, it's just actuallyimpossible like it like from a logical perspective, it's impossible, so you'realways going to have people who are distributing. So it's always going tobe someone in a position of power, but like human nature, being what it is nota chance that it's going to be ever going to be like perfectly equitable. So I think you know, I think it'slikely moralistic. Like you know, yeah all basic needs are men, but therestill hasn't half not which you know at some point: You're like okay. Well itall your basic needs are mad. You know how much more you need them. Then then ring having all your basic needs, making the food, shelter, education, Blah Blah Blah Blah but yeah.So it was. It was interesting because it you know they did the thing where they allude towhat the reason he he quit so he's. You know quit retired living his life runsinto I'm forgetting her dam. Well, what was your name? Dosh is theone just hanging out with now, but it's her sister yeah, that's your sister! That's been while to a yeah. I only watched it once and it was about thistime. Last year, yeah yeah he's hanging out with Dhe sister. These, just thisis pot. I E card, though so you haven't watched it. You know they watch it. The ROMULAN show up and we find outthat there's basically like a sky nat is online event and so replicate humansare bi is pretty blade. Runner yeah, it really was lit runner. It really was that you know ropin humans, like datalike androids, are band illegal, Segi, Soji, yeah, okay, so Jo yeah, so so gshows up at the carts place. I've still unclear to me why she ends up eveiccards because I think they explained about mybrain. Basically, she it was something like in paint. Yeasaypointed there yeah, but anyways the IT turns out. There's like some secret, basically KGB arm of the ROMULANS. That's that's. His goal is to wipe outall replicate life, I'm getting they're, not called replacin, but I'm going tocall them that it's what they are band. It's Tradin Androids, but I you knowAndro is like a funny word where it's. It can be used to describe a lot ofdifferent things and I think replicas captures the essence of what's going onten or so I'm going to stick with that. I think from from my brain for claritysake. That makes more sense. I don't know why why, but it does just to clarify. I got the that reverse. So dog was the one that goes originally to the card right, and so so s remysister right. So he WHO's working with the Romulans on the Bord Cube on theBarque, trying to recover the board tube and there's so moe stuff withthere's some interesting stuff going on with the Borg and I'm trying to figurewhat's going on there, but it combinates with them finding basicallythe replicant home planet and then...

...trying to remember basically becomes aphilosophy battle between the Cardina. It got real philosophical towards, andI mean star trick all is Teddy eatooa appreciate it yeah and I enjoyed that, but it was not entirely like. I was not expectingthe the final battle to be like, let's debate, philosophy, Kahuns, okay, then yeah, and it always feels like a little bit cheapwhen it's like. This is the way you escalate the threatto show that they're. Clearly a threat is well. You know. Here's my group andI want to just destroy all the other groups like has that ever sold anythingno, no one hasn't like and the whole like here ones will always be a menacein a folds of that matter. SPIKEMAN C Juma, Jameson, always kind of in mymovie slave. That might be my new favorite time. What the GEM I don't want to go on atangent. He cited an for the for the next pace of Marten when we yeah but yeah. I thought it was good againwhen the general was like the fuck out of my office on. I Beg your pardon Rightin that scenario I could see howthat fit there, but I still wasn't a huge fan: Seven O nine Shong up. I I she had a little bit more. She was moreof a cameo and e and her part increased towards the end like, and I think we'redefinitely going to get more seven next season sure, but I really loved what like theconversations that she had with Picard about. How do you liketalking about regaining their humanity yeah, because it had been at that point?I hadn't rewashed next in and a while, and it had almost slipped off my radarthat Oh yeah, the card got bored, yeah and and even though he was only bornthrough like two episodes. I like it, never occurred to me and like howdeeply that impacts a person like yeah man Jeez. So I actually thought thewhole seven and nine thing in the board thingrang a little more true for me than the the Soji, then so g Saron, which I'mnot, but I thought so to Zack, was bad. I just thought, like the that separatemind, struggle made more sense to me yeah, whereas the whole replicant thingI was like my brain was not putting the piecestogether as to like, because do they ever answer the question as to whetherthe destruction of that one planet was at Mars. It might have been Marswhether that the basically the uprising and the structions are playing as Marswas because the Romulans activated something or because the replicantchose to do that, because that was unclear an I have tobe watching yeah hero the it got a little convoluted yeah, and so I thinkI think maybe a subsequent watching will be able to clear some of thosethings up, but like wasn't it the end, it was like all these rebegins in herefor hundreds of thousands of years or something like that yeah an that. I was something else a and it's so basically you have the the town. She are right, which is theromulan super secret secret secrets, the Super Secret, theSuper Suor police who are like no repreated, get them out yeah, and thenyou have a you. Have a faction within the tallshore or or is it or I can because I've only watched it once and it's beenabout a year? Is it a faction within the Elcho? Is itjust the tall? She are that were able to get this prophecy aboutthis android uprising right and I think that's what was feeling them well thatthey had this prophecy about Android, up, risin right right. So so, and thenI okay, I think, if I remember correctly, which I might not be theyhad that prophecy, so they made the replicant go crazy on whatever planet Ias thin. You really think is Mars because you have the short track calledchildren on Mars right. We about up rising on Mars to get all the replicantband, and that was a tell shows fall which is like reading the game likecome on great. So I think that's what I think. That's what most of theresolution of that and then turned out. The privacy was like true, but thenthey stopped at the end right yeah, like yeah, you know the card, and youknow you know mustering all of his diplomacy. Powers Right, you know, wasable to philosophy them is like you just ECATOMITI card, I e with great yeah, so that yeah, so that I thinkthat's that's a pretty good summation of of the events of the card, notableappearances, troy and riker. Yes, I love that part that their job that inre, so so, I think that's my favorite one- did they imply that their firstson died? No, it is their first daughter, okay, I no, no, no sorrytheir first son and so here's something...

...because I've been watching back throughstar trek on the hi channel. Here as an icon T, I doa block six days a week called all star trick right, and so they played oneepisode of everything from original serious enterprise, and so I could beas I've been watching back through most every night, I'm catching like littlethings that I missed in the card like Oh they've. Actually, they makereferences to the TALC and next yea they joke references to the Talsi inenterprise. Even so, I like this has been around for a while right, but thething that I missed first go around is that their their daughter, Jordan,Ricker's daughter, is named Castra, which is the name of Troy's oldersister that died when she was a baby which you learn about in season sevenof next Gen. so I just like. Oh my gosh, like once I like heard. Thename is like what do. I know that not what Oh, my gosh and so going back andlooking at the IMDB for for both of those episodes. But yes, so the older son died and thereason he died was because he had a disease or something that could havebeen fixed if he had been able to have some sort of like android implantplaced. But androids are now illegal, this this implant or whatever it wasthat would have cured him, is no longer available, and so he died the cause ofthat HMM. So right, right, okay, so the there's there's layers of tragedy in there, where I'm sure Picard,is probably feeling some weight of responsibility in that, even even, however, indirectly, because of the way things went down with star fleet andthe androids. So it's just. It's O K W A couple, different layers of tragedy in that situation, but just one of the one thing I really love inmy stories. I love found family. If you want Ashley to ugly cry here, let's puton shows, am it will make me like? I would it issuesI am expecting to laugh. I was not expecting to have like a counselingsession, while a really good family such a but like the people who arefamily, are the people that you choose right. You know, and so so that that group hugat the end of Luly cry. I was like this: Is it at this is so do? Why am I cryingthe e, but that I could do it, but the group pocket the end in the of thatepisode of a car, an the just and then and then, of course, riper sweeping inm. At the end, doing his like yeah we're going to do this or I'm going tokick your ass, so yeah. That was A. I was like this. This is the riker that I love very very much thanks for doing that. John Hanfreaks Yop, so yeah anyway, it's wonderful yeah- and you know, when Ithink about it. It really was. Obviously you knowshould have been obvious from the title, but like the both the main story, lines, which is the the android uprising and sod figuring out, what's going on and and sevens kind of side quest to helpthree, the board merely the main. The main, which is kind of lot of excitedfor season to the main thing was a card rediscovering himself. Yes like findinghis captains again, because you know he basically had given up for good. I meanyou know not unreasonably, but it just kind of been like. I can't take itanymore: Yeah gone into retirement. You know, after a huge failure, whetherit was on his part or you know, think beyond this control with the whole. What was it? It was like a Super Nova Romulus and he tried to evacuateeveryone. He wasn't able to get it, so you know bearing the burden for something thatwill probably not in his control. But, like you know, after all, this I needto. I can't keep the sin o the bines to having, but then you to go back intothe like. No, I can still accomplish good things out here. I canstill make a difference so yeah and so to me that that, even though it was fairly dark in places, I thought thatthat, because people some people complain like it, doesn't feel likestarting, like you're, not paying cool snough attention to right right right, there's a lot different layers of classic Jokin. There is especially thecard and seven are you know: they're both like yeah, seven sevens gettingviolent, but come on it's Jerry Rin. We all anes, you be a bat yeah. Yes, it'sokay, because she has like Worf, got, got his ASS wop everysingle episode we loved it. It was so funny because, because I sawit like an analysis of that that was like why doeswar who's established tobe you know this great clean her as...

...supposed to be this classes like thisgreat cling on warrior. Why is he lose? Every single fight and and solemos likewas because warf is established to be a strong word, Beche's a clean on rightand he's a strong like within the cling on he's a strong warrior. Well, how doyou establish that your bag, gays, incredible threat- you haven't- beatyour strongest guy, so it's like it colonae because it hadthey use that so much. It ends up making people think like it we'reactually like a whim like is he see, I was good because he jus, like lean alittle dittor on well if he could be or if we can eat at any one like well eat.More, so is probably not the big of a deal. I think I think to you got withwithin that, though, you also got to develop war for a little right like abecause, as begets just to cling on war. Yeah Wharf gets back up yeah, so Ithink that's cool yeah but yeah. It's so yeah the cards cards regaining of hisconfidence and realizing that he can still you know he fail and then still go onto accomplish things and knowing that there are people that only he can helplike you know if he doesn't go to help these people know he's gonna go o hellthese people, so he feels that call, and you know that to me that Star Treklike they're always like. Oh there's, a the stress all we need to go help thesepeople, because if we don't go, who else is gonna go right? So I think thethat that self sat official element. I think it'sa pure star trek absolutely so so I thought that was good and you knowdiscovery. It took them a little bit, but that did they found their sea legs.Yeah Yeah. I agree yeah, so yeah. So so we want to maybe touch a little bit onthe the little teaser be teaser and yeah. This is not a spoil because it'sfree how long the Internet is thirty seconds. Long go watch it yeah yeah, soit opens. You know, Boyer from the Card Music, whatever none of that'simportant. What is important is the very end with the card burns and theletter to his left, and then you get I what what's funny I'm watching this andI start like maniacal laugh and then the trial is never over s kep to me so yeah. So this like a car of thetable and it burns away the reveal just to q. So that's what we got to look forwardto isond. I love John Le Anse's, so fun, and I don't see him like anything elseso so went to know what my introduction toJohn De Lancey was a Mosman okay. One of my favorite cartoons growing upbesides garb oils, was the real adventures of Johnny quest in season in season to he's Dr Quest Uh. This, like the old hand of a Bar Arcanio, the mid okay, okay. So so this is like itran from like ninety six to ninety eight o belief, but anyway he is he'sDr Quest in season to, and so I'm watching next Gen. for the first time-and you know the very first episode you go, John Delancy is cute and I'm like, why is his voice so familiar? And I've done this like throughoutthroughout, like next Jed, because half of the next gymastique, so I mean I recognize Johnson freaksbecause they also m models. Zanita O, look like Jonathan Freaks and- and Irecognized Marina Sertis because she was Damona, but also I'm like. Why isshe? Nice is confusing, but the den I'm, like I nthis guy. We do. I know this guy and it took like, maybe like the second or thirdappearance of Q in Next Gin. For me to like, like why do I know this guy'sname, and then I figured Oh, my Gosh. He doctor quest nonsense. The only other thing I was atbehind me because the only other thing I then he's done was there was a video game called levias o want ofconundrum baby. It was kind of like a portal style puzzle, game and John DeLancey was basically glades for that game. Okay, I've never played that pin I haven't either I've just heard of itswell his name. I'm sorry, John Worn, one thousand nine hunded and ity eighthey he's from Philly, hey look at that. He was a crank. I don't remember that Ididn't watch the second prank because, like let's be honest, if you watch thefirst point veatch the second crank I have, I have not watched any cranks,it's what a prison with the, but it's a completely absurd movie. It's justpurely it's just purely like shock factor stuff. It's it's fun to watchonce and then it's a completely thrown a movie like, and I it's not instant,it's not intending to be anything on...

...that, yet he's discorded by Little Bony Yeah. Ijust saw that the heck. He does a lot of voice work. He s in four episodes ofbreaking ready, bad all right. I am not watch breaking deathe's a pony.Apparently he was Santa. An Elf sparkle meets the Christmas horse. He's brainya can justice, the action that I was as okay. Well still, that's that's veryfun. My Little Po hilarious good for you ye. Let's see, if anything else, anything Ion an episode of the mentalist, he was in five episodes of stark s. One I'veonly watched the first episode. I have this Tighe's done a lot of viegas yeah he's got a great voice: Yeah, Oh yeah, absolutely yeah, breaking bad. You O the unit man. I remember that show you remember the unit I do not. It wasbasically Swat with all State Guy Yeah, that's pretty good! That's where allstage Tagete guy who I can never remember the actor's name, because Iknow him as also guy, I jest whatever I as that US in Nestra and duck dodgers aman Luntun. That's awesome. Has a voices an invader, Zim a couple ofvoices and ban an e animate series as well. He was Egleton that is er. I hatethat Sir. You know I expected to like it more than I did. I was I was not afan. Extreme go musters a, but you got the real vices of JohnnyQuest Yeah, it's the first one, then the first ones to count yeah. Thosewere the fake ones and the star track soles. He wants mebefore star Yeah, that man series yeah, I mean like just grow with her in hisIMDB. He does a lot of TV he's on days of our lives, four hundred and twentyepisodes of days of our lives. I missed that for hundred in grab for fourhundred and twenty episodes hold on episode. One Point: six hundred and sixeight O, my God, eight years so t that wasprobably you know the one of the bigger things you did. He spent eight years now. I have to know I can twentyepisode of days of our lives. Oh my gosh, eight years, the hundred andtwenty episodes man he was in addition, the possible TVseries he was on the guider he's been an he'son the pilot one gee. This guy's got it's just nothing ever watch Osgot thisguy been around the bastard, Oh, oh, so in one thousand, nine hundred andeighty two Eugene, which is the character that he played on days of ourlives, appeared in Salem and was a patient of Dr Marlena Evans. So the only thing I know about days inour lives was there was a. There was a block of time in the mids where Marlenawas possessed by a demon, and so they basically gave the actress like a voicechanger so she's like Rio. That, because I caught like radom episodeswith my grandmother anyway, Eugee kid that Marlena took her back to hisapartment. Eugene's apartment walls were covered with newspaper clippingsabout the stranglings and pictures of Marlena and Blah Blah Blah. So basically he waslike some kind of crazy dude I mean I son, delance plays bore, plays billinusfor semi. Villain is guys because he's got he's, got a great evil. Voices gota great condescending, evil voice, yeah, which I'm sure he's a very pleasantperson. Yeah I've listened to interviews with him. He seems like areally sweet guy. He look, he looks like you go over to your friend's houseand he'd be the dad of be like hey. You guys need anything. Yeah he's like theCool Dad so fun fact. He got to act with his actual son playing Que's sonin an episode of Voyager, which was a lot of fun, and so that's, basically the main thingthat we're taking away from this new little teaser that that dropped onMonday is that q will be in season to it, andI think the rumor is that Whippie Goldberg is also returning. That is nota wimmer that is a fat. That's confirm it will be Golde. Okay, so I neverquite understood what Ginin was I I didn't either and I still don't onehundred percent, but the reason I know this is this is this is a one hundredpercent happening is because, before like, we were only like two or threeepisodes into becard and Patrick Stewart went on the view and specifically said to will beGoldberg. We need Ginin in season two or whatever,so this is as deity going to be a thing. That's happening so, first of all. Welllike Oh this one, the season yea but yeah. So so it sounds like will beGolberg's going to be in there we're going to have John delancy s, Q and,and that t and like it, because it's...

...been a while, since I've seen thoseepisodes of Nix Gen, but there there is enmity between guidancepeople and the q continue on right, and I because I didn't seem like she hadany like super powers like at least he realini seems like she had some sort ofprecognitive insight, or you know, supertemporal insight and,of course she was terrified of her. So clearly he could not to cut that mess withguiding right. You know they're, really stretching the really playing with whatthe worry that omnipotent means, maybe like Niomon or like really strong. Youknow beyond human reckoning, but not a impotence. E'erwhile guys. I need everything, Potepower string over everything. So if you're there's anything that can beatyou, you are by definition not omnipotent like it's. Okay, that'sthat's just how the logic and words work, guys ter find it to meetsomething that it's not a square is not a circle. Sorry guys all counts. It doesn't make sense, but so yeah, so that's the card, I'm prettyexcited to see. What's going to go, I think you coming back is going to bereally interesting. That's going to be real interesting since, technically youknow I mean the card is now an android rights, yeah right. That was somethingthat happened and if Picard is like humanities like as advocate yeah, so you, how is that going to change Tu'sview of him right and is he going to have super strength? Or you know thatis cut just gonna, be like your Kinman again snap didn't about that. I be humanagain, a human agaricoid that yeah that want. I I'll do that, but oh yeah, there's a great blue bird fromCasa de space. Nonce shows up for one episode des Accuses Up in DC, Sienvoyager and then both very different and intentionally because he'sbasically like for both of them he's like you're, not like John Luke, andthis is go like Dekon, but there's is a fantastic. looper is a great lime realfrom from from some PA sines densae stuff, but I just one were tune buck inthis. One then like going on on to Pan, there's like it, some plant of lostchildren, sort of thing going on and the little kids like run into a caveand two bucks walking and it gets to the cave as an was a man a going to muck it down. An get facer is islike sitting around on the chair. I Bosola Tim Russ is one of the hardestworking actors out there yeahs you had a lot of fun. Let check well well so here's here's another Tim Russappearance that you may or may not be aware of in space balls when they'recoming the desert does onything he in failing come. I LoveVisual Pa. I I I love. I do too. I do too it's. One of the reasons I reallyenjoy. Melbustad are wonders like es are fantastic, but there's one momentwhere it's that scene, where she disappears, everyone on dead space, nine and Sisco crabs and says bring them back to them. Back to you. He sayshe says like what or what you'll thrash me he said. Mess up is like he says, O:U You'll ravish me a like rush of so s like, I might, and he says it in his delicious, a books. Yes, one of myfavorite star take just he's calms like I might yeah yeah so discovery so that thetrail for discovery was pretty generic. I'M gonna be a, but they gave me somelike. What's that what's happening here right, so I enjoyed that part. Yeahwho's T E, the taller red head that has freckles. It's not tilly the one of thethe I think yeah yeah, I e not for the life of me. Remember her name. Have weseen her before, because I don't remember yeah she's, been she yeahshe's, been on the crew, the whole time she's the pilot minutolo that one, then that's that's Detmer, who you'retalking about yeah? Okay, we pull the trailer...

...she's somewhere in the middle. She tore up a West, go mute it and playon double speed. She tore up a live long and prosper. OhYeah, okay, yeah! Let's see okay explosions, Michael Michael Michael Enterprise, that guy that girlexplosion, Tilly Michael Tilly in two thousand and twenty one Michael- Idon't know who that was no. Actually I do. I was this: Oh yeah, okay, okayfound it. I don't think we know who that is okay. Well, so I say shedoesn't look familiar to me so so o o you're, looking at her image m. What what plan is she from? Or you know what? What race of human woid? is she because she look like a it's parted, tells alittle borry yeah it it. The image new show quickly, maybe look it. He cut noshe's, not so great enough to be a credo. I almost thought trill becauseof the FRECKLES, but no doesn't it's like it, but but it's yeah they're indifferent spots and not it's not the right tone. She almost kind of lookslike whatever newlicks was, but again the patterns in the a anyplace on Huh yeah. I was like so who that that's sothat's my goethe must be a new character D. I don't recognize at all.Michael looks like offended at. What's going on here, I like Oh, she did notjust do that and then there's you know the rogue Nigels. Are there they'renidging nines yeah the the same as there in Picard yea, which, by the waythe principal of absolute candor, is my favorite thing because I won I I got noburker face. I can't lie far man. They can not be my popsey.Ain't got no pokish and got no good place. There is. She can't lie to nobody but the the warrior nuns? What are the warrior?Nuns called the non wariars lawyer Non Star, Trek, Rom Warrenden, explained t cooal, yes, Kamala. Yes, some time O yeah, I'm not far off, because this this article is called Robelin. Warrior nuns explain, so youknow yeah. We, okay pause. I had to be war, yournon pony, a ces, but he's W oh yeah yeah. I heard about that. It was aNeflis, Eva, shot, Gun Mary Mother Superior. What is this show? I don'tknow. I have not watched anyways you talking anyway. I really really likethe Quatalan, so I I'm really excited that Michael's. Mom is one now thatthink. That's cool I like that they are coming back into play in the nextseason. I really enjoyed that they took something from Picard and put it inDiscovery. I don't know why I wasn't reallyexpecting that, but you know they did and that's cool so very excited about that so yeah, soI think were. Finally, it took them three seasons to get Michael in thecaptain's chair right, but they finally got her in the Cape shares. You knowwhere she belongs right, but let me just grow it for you not after wakingup in the morgue and Orton Tin, discovers in empoissonne chosen halo, mirror for a secret sect of demon, hunting nuns o. So there there's that afun that puts a Parlie six twenty out of ten might be fun, but probably is isprobably is like. Have you guys even read the Bible, because every episodeand then that for a Bible, verse interesting, the ratings consistentlygo down consistently point to dropping ray foreach episode that Sucks Man Yeah Anyway, anyways anyway, starter? Yes, go a true discovery, so one other thing. I noticed we, you seeSaru again and we see another culpon. Is that the say? What's the the Kelpianthat he helped yeah yeah? Did they did they like fix him, or so I stuck thereso now they got him out right when he was away from thestuff that I was when he was not near dilithium. It wasn't an issue rightright, so they got him out and sory was taking him back to what is this planet? I kelpie sorry guys. We are super preparedtonight yeah. This is where we have...

...google right. It is going. Tell T, tell Ben PlanetWogle says: Did you mean Kansas Basketball? Yes, yes, I did. We Not Tamar Cain Art.Thank you. So he was saying I back to Caminar to find his his family also help him to kind ofreassimilate into the real world. Well, not evenreassimilate, because he's never lived in the real world right so to bring himinto the real world which is cool, so SARS kind of stepping in being likeSurrogat Dad, which is really awesome, but we see Saru again and then Suka, that's the name of the the Kelpian they found on the daywith the implent. So my question is: is the Kilpin we see is session call or isthat another Kelpian? I think it looks like she call yeah? I think that's so Ithink that's a OT. He stepping down to help to call right and and lettingMichael be the captain, but I think it'll still be involved right yeah. SoI think it'll be interesting to see what becomes the major threat now thatthey're established in the future. They found a source of dilithium. So what'sgoing to be the tension, I mean it seems like getting the Federation backtogether. Yeah like that. I like about find the federation and yeah. I feellike this easins going to be about rebuilding the venation yeah, some reconstruction and then so. Ibelieve we also did. We see a shot of Tarena, the the president of what was formerlyVulcan, Yep she's, the one doing the symbol to the person. We don't know. Yes, what is the name of the the notVulcan Planet? Romulus, oh the one. They moved to yes or the tithe chain, the name change. I can't remember he shoot Yo. It has not been that longsince I washed right me. Does my bintrey of this information on an discovery Nebar near Nobar? That's whatI was in Enron, yes, yeah, yeah so or yeah. So that's that's exciting. I wasreally I really like her character. I'm really excited to see she was Minelli with someone, maybe Michael it looked likesomeone was getting my melted. We who, as my on with the doctor, Dude, whosename I can never remember, yeah, she's, no, no she's, my Melly with the cureguy. I came at mementos names, book, Buk, yeah she's, my mailing with, butlook love Book Oka. I love giant cats. I just lovecats, I'm a cat, lady, but I mean the one thing that has made facebookredeemable for me in recent memory. Is The facebook group this cat is Chunky so grudge you could be queen of theChunk Group so anyway, and apparently, like you've,got a couple of different cats playing grudge and David Ajala is apparentlythe cat whisperer and all the cats loved him so which is perfect. Yes, grudges on on that scale between heftychunk mega chunker and Allah, he coercet Mary Weisman who's about thesame height as me is holding up this cat and it's almost as long as yeasts, always like. Probably I I can't hold you: Did you eat her gris, probably somewhere in the alone, come in yeah, it was so so there was an episodeof mission. Log Live podcast, the one I actually got to call it on and sayhello. There was discussion about grudge, whither grudge was actually aqueen of something or if grudge was just a big cat, but I think Rogis, justa cat and and David igolotes or well that's the actor. A book just reallyloves cats, and you know he basically is a druid. You know he has a animalfriendship. He helps all the animals you have malitia. What is what the thetransfer yeah yeah yeah the transform that really sounds like a dub step todance everybody do transeat too bad. Youcouldn't see the transform dance we we're just doing. It was pretty goodwhat a great audio I he like. What? What? What did he like?Sorry, he be really like it's late...

...we've been drinking. What you no todrink a piece I mean dude, I've barely even gotten into mine, but, like youknow the thing on my both talk with our hands. Yes, we definitely, I definitelyactually hit. Someone will gesticulate that so bad ye. I did. I did one ofthese. I just lap. Someone is, Oh, my God, I'm so sorry. I will get down onmy knees and apologize. I did not mean to do that. I did that to realize orspeak standing next to me, but yeah. So so I'm excited for season, for I think it's been. I think it has been trending in a good direction. Yeah.I agree just had a conversation with the Tangel sister earlier this evening, where she didn't make it through the first season of discovery just because she was just like. I don'tknow if it's for me and I'm like keep going Ella, because I barely rememberthe main plot points of season one. So in almost cling on war. That's all ayeah US cling on more, but then we get through season to by the time I got tothe end of season to I was so like emotionally all in like in that finale.I cried through the last twenty minutes. It was funny because I was I waswatching. It was that I was on vacations at my friend's house and I'mfinishing some I'm trying to finish an article for fanegos about things, I'mhoping for for a season three of discovery, and so I'm finishing seasontoo, and I'm watching this on my kindles at the dinner table and I'mjust I've got my earphones and nobody can hear like what I'm watching and I'mjust crying o anyway. So and then like this season, Imean two thousand and twenty was rough, for I mean and that's that's theunderstatement of the century. Like you know, two thousand and twenty, I washard for everybody, and all of this was filmed. They finished filming likeFebruary nineteenth and yeah like so they finished filming all of this likeright before everything got shut down and they, like all of the emotional beats inseason three, were so needed in like within this past year, like Ilooked forward to being able to write about starter discovery every singleweek, just because of how emotionally Cathartic it was for me to watch everysingle episode and how moved I was like again. Maybe maybe it's because I justI love Star Trek so much and I love the hopefulness of Star Trek, but I reallyfeel like season three lashed on to that and you know didn't let go and itwas awesome. Also, there was lots of found familystuff in there and then we yeah I'm sucking for that. Yes, we have, he gota bunch of Ferente, it was fantastic. So I'm really looking forward to seasonfor M. I really want to see what they do with tilly tiles, my gal she's, my favorite startrek character or my favorite SARACcharacter in discovery, because I identify so much with her awkwardnessand her exuberance and her too much ness. Because that's that's me. That'sme all over the board M yeah. I agree she was like, especially because youdon't know her. It's just like this kind of seemingly out of placecharacter in the first in the first season, like really doesn't feel likeshe could sin with the rest of the cree, but she hurt she had. I mean because ofthat I actually shuts it off for really really good character grows. I think Idid a good job with it and I love her yeah yeah yeah. I that's one thing.I've really been impressed with, I feel like all of our mains like and we'restarting to get more with, like the rest of our bridge crew. I don't thinkwe've really gotten to know like reece and detmer and o o as well, but we're getting moredevelopment for them right but like within. Like the past season, we gottons of development for Michael Tons for tilly m tons for Saron Hugh and youand Anthony Rap yeah, careful again standit yeah to bit and then then you add a Europe and and then great m, and then this isthis whole other found family dynamic, which is really interesting m. Soyou've you've got like this super interesting cast and you'regetting to watch. All of these characters grow and develop in natural, realistic ways, and I think it's really cool m. So I think that's that's. Ithink. That's probably the best thing discoveries got going forward is it'scharacter, development and just watching everybody grow up, and I lovethat. I think that's awesome yeah. I agree yeah, so you know, Star checksgot goodd things coming in the future...

...right side as as marble as as well lotsof good stuff coming down the pike, for you know us being locked up for Er yeahand he putting yeah. We got good star Trek, we got, we got good star. Warsgot good marvel like really good marvel yeah that I think more than anything andpeople you know I would not say I he wont to Vision or Cape Fact. My orsoldier are perfect, like I won't. I won't say like these have no flaws thatstupid. They have laws but they're both, I think they're both excellent and Ithink they both point to the creative direction that Kevin cannever tingeing like havin fight is taking things and I think, he's willingto take risks. Yeah he's liking to lean into more of the comic bookie stufflike because they are established now, so they can take more creative is andpeople will watch it. Oh yeah and like I mean something like one division likeyou could not have done that ten years ago. People would isn't what the hellwas that you know one division was so different and weird, and it worked that was phenomenal and also likethey're they're, really demonstrating- and I mentioned this on another episodeI think, but like one of the things, I really am continually impressed withwith what the MC is doing and I think, like more science fiction, things aredoing this too one things that one of the things I've always thoughtconfooses actually do pretty well is they can hit on some harder topics and do itin a way where you don't realize in you, don't realize you're thinking aboutthis harder topic and the way one division handled grief M I've neverseen like another, like, I can't think of another show, that's ever doinganything remotely close to that and about how grief is real and it stickswith you for a while. You don't just snap out of it and get over it. I meanso many like stories will say you time will heal all loose and maybe yeah to adegree, but it doesn't mean that you're not ever going to be sad aboutsomething right in right, so yeah anyway yeah. That's it! That's that'sanother episode. That's not a star trek episode of brief man. Sorry in ahealthy Adaly, stanes, so put things for star trek coming up. I'm reallyexcited about it yeah, I kind of hope they don't do any more movies like theythink for all the research. I do. I don't think there's so to at least notany times yet. No is now there's there's so much new trek TV coming downthe pipe. Like I mean we got wars, my section thirty one withMichele you it's coming! It's coming. I mean the the whole episode with the the city on teage forever yeah. That was the backdoor pilot for the ITION thirty one high, but I hadn'theard and I well. He wasn't anything about it than contact at you rightright. So I know it's. I know it's happening. I don't know if it's filmingat this point or not, and are we officially getting like a Captain Pikething or right? Yes, that that is how like and it's definitely sexy with thebeard spark. Yes, I come at me. I will fight you on this. Yes, even though heshared it shaved it off, but that's going to be com, strange new worlds.Looking forward to that Motha Michelle Yahrak or Michelle Yo, I have I I used to say it one way, because Inever heard it said out loud and I realized Oh, that was not correct. Imean the best you can do if you've never heard someone say it. The bestyou can do. Is You know a phonetic buffer net pronunciation so, like Idon't people can plain you? You never heard someone say it, then until you'recorrected, I think it's perfect reason will just go with a phonetic, spellingor Nikosia Ion. Well the PROAS, a phonetic enunciation. So my problem is,I have heard it now said correctly, but I can't remember Sorie. I love you. I think you're,amazing, okay, so one she is a busy lady. In Two thousand and twenty one,I'm looking at I M B she's got one two three, four: Five: six, seven, eightnine ten eleven twelve thirteen fourteen fifteen upcoming projects homemind up through the COCON agents of child right. No, that that's yeah yeah my sheet and Inowe was in research,Asians or my Niyamat Miche Gosse was the mom in crazy, recasions right, soshe's also going to be in speaking of MC. U She's She's joining the MC she'sgoing to be in chance in the legend of Tin Rings. What is that supposed to godesk apparently coming out this year? Did Oh, I'm sorry about that. She'salso going to be an Avatar two, three four and five. Don't talk! Why? What I know I dounderstand! We never fresh, I don't understand, but anyway to bate abillion dollars. Yes, that's why and now everything is in thred and lookscool soanyway the untitled star, trek...

...section. Thirty one project is listedas in development on ind, so that we started filming right right so, butit's definitely happening. I'm very excited about that, because Michelle Yaor Michele you forgive me for not knowing the correct way to me that sheis fantastic, she's, absolutely fantastic and I routed Michelle on away. She's she's great. I you know it's interesting because I hadnot. I don't think I'd really seen her in anything besides. Christ was agents. The nominal movie- Oh yeah, love crazy echangions, but because, but I didn'trealize that oh she was a bond girl. Oh, she was in CALC cratching tiger, hiddenRidin, yea she's in tomorrow. Was it crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon Yeah overDisn't watch that one she's also encourage. I didn't watch Mortis I dieanother day is the one I didn't watch yeah so so I'm like Mais tiger is d.She is better known for all of her action stuff and I know he wyoming, which is so like Ironic, crossy Tiger Bidden Dragon. You Mean Live ActionAlon, but good, yeah, I'll, say that and shade thrown so I'll. Go to that shadeall day. There's no reason to remain the long whatever and we're not talkingabout that. We will be definitely do do do episode on re, Nice, yeah so but yeah so we've got, you know, still coming down the bite and we don't know details yet, but we've got thesection. Thirty one show and then we've also got strange new worlds. We're justgoing to be. The Captain Pike Show we're going to have even pack us backawesome Goin to have Rebecca Roma as number one number one number, but weand and she's very mysterious. We don't really know anything about her she's,the future right now, his didn't like number one go tothe future or someone the pike screw went to the future. With with the breather thing, yes and and then she went back to herplanet in season three of his rights. Yes, I had forgotten that she was onpike for it, but wasn't she number one? No Rebecca Romain has always been okay, okay, God I got a kind of yeah anyway yeah, so that's that's going to bereally cool, really love ants and mount as Captayne, even a spot. My goodnessas well in like to I listened on Star Truck Day. He did they did a panel of online with him and some of the otherstrange new worlds. People M- and he was talking about well, I you know whenhe was preparing for the role he actually went back and he watchedoriginal series. He made notes of things that spot reference likephilosophical works and things like that and then went and read them H.Like I mean I mean people got old, grumpy about spot having a beard, but Iwas like my goodness, like the man. Does his homework and he's so good atlike embodying that persona spots, my favorite, like fock and O, who are myfavorite original series characters and he just nails it so rely bully for himto. I think you had a big job yeah all right. Well, that's! So that's all it'sa good! It's a good time to be a trick fan. It really is we got like all butlike ten weeks last year, where we didn't have a new star trek episode ofsomething so I mean, and it's all available in one place- eanthus yeah. Iguess it hasn't the things but yeah it does. I like it actually has a lot ofstuff has like all the MTV and nickelodeon stuff. Oh yeah, paramountsickle, yeah yeah it's by a com, so basically everything Viacom ones ispretty much on paramount. Yes, so I was the o a couple for a oncome episode. Iwatch a couple things on Parmys ye got good for a bout of movies on the R D Nt love TV, so I'm glad to chose the name because, like Oh my God, I mean hbneeds to chase a name to Warner Max, like I haven't watched a single as ocean onit. So I go as far I'm pretty sure. Most of the stuff I've watched on thererecently interested movies right right so like get it together, Warner but yeah, so that that's going to beour show relatively short, as I mean, but honest s, o other, I meanseriously other hour and fifty lot of material. The covers be goin. The ten years of Nott's was late. Is Right. Yes, fifty years of so in sixtyeight, I believe. Sixty d sixty nine. Yes, so it's been fifty years, a D R Yfor half a century of Star Trek Yeah is good stuff, interesting to think aboutgood stuff, plick, quick plug if you're interested in Gobo going into a a bitmore of a deep dive here in a few weeks at Signum University, Dr Amy Sturgis, who ase one of myprofessors in Grad School, is teaching...
